How to Plan Your Wedding Style

The style of your wedding dress is the most important factor. If you are Straight or Fuller Figured, avoid very fitted or waisted styles as these need a Curved or Tapered bodyshape.

The colour of your dress is of secondary importance. If you strong colouring, white can be flattering; if you have lighter colouring, ivory or cream is your best choice.

Don't change your make-up too dramatically for your wedding - stick to the best colours for your Colour Direction and visit an expert to learn new techniques and discover new products.

Choose a headdress and hairstyle to suit your face shape. For example, if you have a short face, you may need some height; if your face is long, width will be most flattering.

A simple dress with stunning accessories can be the most stylish look. Long gloves or a velvet/satin wrap can look fantastic. Sensational shoes can also add extra style points - eg. beaded, /embroidered.

Avoid too much jewellery if your dress is heavily decorated. Pearls and diamonté always look classy but avoid chokers if you have a short neck. If you need glasses, invest in a delicate pair.

A tiara is very fashionable and makes you feel like royalty! If you have long hair, wear it up with the tiara in front; if you have short hair, back-comb your hair to give it 'body' behind the tiara.

Natural hand-tied flowers (some containing berries and fruit) are the latest 'Must Have' bouquets. Stiff, wired arrangements look dated and passé. Select unusual flowers/foliage for button holes.

Choose different styles of dress in the same colour scheme for older and younger bridemaids - one style is not for all ages!

Carry a small drawstring bag containing your 'emergency kit': spare hosiery; compact and mirror; lipstick; comb and mini-hairspray; needle and thread; safety pins; tissues.
